Scott Mitchell was recently admitted to the Oregon State Bar and handles cases in the areas of family law, civil litigation, estate planning, guardianship and conservatorships, general real estate, and debtor/creditor matters.
Scott graduated cum laude from Gonzaga Law School. He served on the executive board of the Gonzaga Journal of International Law as a Lead Articles Editor, and was the recipient of a merit scholarship.
He worked for two years at the City Attorney's Office of Spokane Valley where his responsibilities included litigating public nuisance matters and drafting city policies and ordinances. He was also a judicial extern for Judge Laura Siddoway on the Washington Division III Court of Appeals.
He received his BA in 2008 from Brigham Young University, double majoring in English and philosophy, and minoring in editing. While at BYU, Scott was editor-in-chief of BYU's undergraduate philosophy journal, Aporia. Scott is a member of the Oregon State Bar Family Law Section, Oregon State Bar Government Law Section, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, Multnomah County Bar, and Washington County Bar. Scott is an independent contract attorney for Garland Griffiths Knaupp, Attorneys and is not an employee of the firm.
